about Kimberly Richardson
Kimberly Richardson sensei, 7th dan, is founder of Two Cranes Aikido in Seattle. She is a lifetime student of Mary Heiny and studied extensively with Motomichi Anno, Mitsugi Saotome and Hiroshi Ikeda.
Kimberly studied Buddhism, mindfulness and tai ji and brings that, and her experience as a psychotherapist, into her aikido practice. She actively is bringing in O sensei’s teachings during class, as passed on to her by the variety of teachers she practiced with.
In 2008 she founded Two Cranes Institute that provides educational and embodied leadership programs in the Seattle community and beyond. Her goal is to share O Sensei’s principles and practices that cultivate peaceful solutions to conflict and encourage nonviolent action.
Her style characterizes itself by grace, flow and clarity. Her teachings address the energetic levels of our aikido practice and will open and deepen new layers in your practice.
